DHAMPUS TREK
A very short trek and a very worthy one to add on your list is Dhampus trek. The trek covers different ‘Gurung’ settlements offering you with utmost hospitality and diversity in the natural landscape. Despite being a short trek , it will offer you no less of the majestic views of the Mighty Himalayas along the trail.
You will experience the livelihood, culture and the traditions of the local Gurung community along the trail.Heavenly views of the Annapurna Ranges, Mt. Fishtail and Mt. Dhaulagiri during this short trek are once in a lifetime opportunity . Walking through the stone paved steep trail surrounded by forests. The village itself is really beautiful with typical Nepali house with stone- thatched houses.
The trek can be started from Kathmandu or from Pokhara itself as well. From Kathmandu you have an option of either flying (30 mins) or driving (6.5 hours ) .
Please note that the required number of participants is at a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 12 participants. Nevertheless, it doesn't mean that you have to be a group of 2 to book the trip.
4 Days Itinerary :
Day 1 - Flight/ Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara - 30 mins flight / 7 hours drive
Day 2 -Drive from Pokhara to Kande, Trek up to Austarailian Base Camp and sop for lunch . After lunch trek to Damphus and trek down to Phedi . Drive to Pokhara - 1 hour drive / 6 hours trek / 1 hour drive.
Day 3 - Flight/ Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu - 30 mins flight / 7 hours drive.
Day 4 - Departure back to home.
6 Days Itinerary :
Day 1 - Flight/ Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara - 30 mins flight / 7 hours drive.
Day 2 - Drive from Pokhara to Phedi . Trek from Phedi to Dhampus - 45 minutes drive / 3 hours trek.
Day 3 - Trek from Dhampus to Sarangkot via Naudanda - 6 hours trek.
Day 4 -Short hike down to Pokhara. Transfer to hotel in Pokhara - 3 hours trek.
Day 5 - Flight/ Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu - 30 mins flight / 7 hours drive.
Day 6 - Departure back to home.
